Did you climb trees and dream about your tree house when you were a kid? Yes I did!
Being an architect was my dream since I was 6 and I made it real! During my professional career, I have been very lucky to travel around the world to see various architectural wonders. I worked on several design projects, but I never forgot about the little girl dreaming about buildings. I am an architect in NYC and I founded arKiDect in 2010, where kids discover and learn about architecture. My biggest influence is my 4 year old daughter Maya. I am learning a lot from her every single day.
arKiDect teaches a way of thinking to kids. Lasting learning occurs through play and carefully planned project work. Through arKiDect, every child is learning new problem-solving skills not only about architecture and environment but in other areas where they can apply these skills as well. Children are getting more connected with the world and learning new problem-solving skills. Kids can recognize the qualities of good design and the value of a well-designed piece of architecture. Therefore they can participate in the development of the 'built environment’’ in the future whatever their occupation is.
I am very excited and passionate about teaching the next generation of builders!
Let's play, learn, and design together!
